So, 1 GORP bar contains almost your full RDI of Omega-3 if you are a woman, and over half your RDI if you are a man! Our goal was to provide you with serious bang for your buck when it came to protein, fiber, and Omega-3…and we deliver it all in one tasty bar!
Flax has also been studied for its specific benefit to women. The lignans found in flax seeds, which are compounds that are converted into hormone-like substances in the gut, have been linked to a reduced risk of breast cancer, and they also promote normal ovulation. So eating about an ounce of ground flaxseed each day can offer women protection against breast cancer. Score.

Remember! Flax must be ground in order for you to reap the full benefits. Otherwise it can pass through your system undigested!
In order for your body to benefit from the anti-inflammatory properties of flax, it must convert the alpha-linolenic acid to EPA and DHA. To do this you need a sufficient amount of vitamin B6, B3, C, magnesium, and zinc in your diet. So make sure you are taking a high-quality multivitamin everyday!
Omega-3-rich foods can be volatile when it comes to storage, so be sure to store your seeds and oils out of direct light and in a cool area. We don’t add any artificial preservatives to GORP bars, so if you plan on hanging onto a bar for longer than a few weeks, throw it in the freezer. They can take the cold! It’s all part of our QUEST FOR FRESH…we don’t want to be eating year-old food, and neither do you!
